In Their Own Words

St. John's Mercy David C. Pratt Cancer Center

Transforming cancer patients' healing process through design

The new David C. Pratt Cancer Center is designed specifically for cancer patients and their families, offering a comfortable, healing environment. The center provides fully integrated diagnosis and treatment in a convenient major metropolitan hospital campus setting. Devoting this building to cancer patients reflects the hospital’s commitment to healthy outcomes through state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment. Patients report that several features of the building make a positive difference in their treatment experience.

The first level of the three-story building houses patient registration, cancer information, radiation therapy, diagnostic imaging and an education conference center. The second and third floors house oncology physician practices, and a pediatric oncology unit. Family lounges on these floors overlook the front-entry garden plaza, and include more private, secluded areas.
