Christner responded to the needs of this skilled nursing home with a four-story addition. New spaces include large group areas, a kitchen for residents, additional dining rooms, administrative offices, and a new front entry. The 72 private rooms and common areas were renovated with new finishes and materials. We made great efforts to create cheerful and homelike spaces, including details like plantation-style shutters in resident rooms and state-of-the-art spa rooms on each floor.

Our designers combined brick, stone and glass to blend the addition with the existing building and to create daylit living areas.
We created the new façade, rich landscaping and outdoor gardens to be a more welcoming residence.
Designers incorporated a new outdoor balcony on the second floor overlooking the north garden that allows residents to get fresh air without leaving the building.
Our goal was to create spaces that are more open, calming and bright. We included large windows to bring in daylight and added fireplaces to provide warmth and serenity.
Designers placed living rooms close to resident rooms to encourage informal interaction.
We redesigned the reception area to be more welcoming to visitors and more efficient for staff.
